Sample of my work

My Orange Lodge (Loughries True Blues LOL 1948 Newtownards) recently unfurled a new banner that was designed by the lodge and painted by a local artist - William Magowan. As I have been painting in acrylics, watercolours and oils for many years, I decided to paint a miniature copy of the banner to display in our lodge room. The resulting banner is 24"x26" and has been painted using the techniques used for a full sized banner.
With 2012 being the centenary year for the signing of the Ulster Covenant, the banner depicts the signing of the covenant and the consequences of it. There is the Carson statue in the centre with four images around it:-
1. The signing of the Ulster Covenant
2. The Innismurray delivering munitions to the Ulster Volunteers at Donaghadee
3. The 13th Batallion Royal Irish Rifles going over the top in 1916
4. The Ulster Tower at the Somme

Displaying the banner in the lodge room has resulted in me receiving an order to paint a bannerette for a local RBP lodge. I will post images of this when it is finished and unfurled.
